
US tariffs have had a visible impact on consumer behaviour in the eurozone, according to the latest research from the European Central Bank.
Around 40% of respondents to the ECB’s consumer expectations survey expected tariffs to be inflationary and around 13% said the measures would worsen their financial wellbeing, an article on the central bank’s website claims. Around a quarter of respondents said the trade policies would dampen economic growth.
